BIOTA 2024

205 HUDSON GALLERY, HUNTER COLLEGE, NEW YORK.NY

BIOTA was an exhibition of works that date from 2008 to the present that question what is real and what is fiction. The two levels of the gallery marked a dividing line that separated sculpture that posited an engagement with the natural world, and drawings that represented an invented one . The conflation of the two suggested a re-imagining of a coded world through an altered lens. On the upper level are 5 sculptures: Babel, a loveseat that once housed birds, Lizard, a loveseat that once housed a lizard , two desks and a table with various plant material  . On the lower level were several groups of computer-generated drawings, a vestibule designed for the display of theoretical propositions,  and collages that were a mash-up of articles from the NY Times and studies for projects.
