The project was to renovate a derelict commercial pier in East Harlem into a recreational park. Though the structure remained intact, the surface, roof, lighting system and steel-work were altered to give the sense that the pier was a continuation of the urban map which protruded into the east river of Manhattan. The pier became a space for formal gatherings, picnics and fishing.
